Thanksgiving Leftovers
What to do with all that leftover turkey!
INSTEAD OF THE OLD TURKEY SANDWICH LEFTOVERS,
I LOVE THESE LITTLE LEFTOVER PIES!!!
THANKSGIVING LEFTOVERS!
INGREDIENTS
3 sheets of Trader Joes Puff Pastry
Thanksgiving leftovers (shredded turkey meat, gravy, mashed potato, cranberry sauce)
1 egg + 2 tablespoons water, for egg wash
INSTRUCTIONS
1 Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut puff pastry sheets into rectangles. For 6 hand pies, cut 12 rectangles.
2 Fill 6 rectangles with about 3 tablespoons of leftovers. Be sure to leave room around the boarders.
3 Make egg wash by combining egg and water. Brush the mixture along the edges of each rectangle. Place the other 6 rectangle on top of the filling, and press to seal the edges. A fork works best. Brush egg wash on the surfaces, and create vents by pricking the surface with a fork.
4 Bake for about 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
Now if these little squares are too small and you want to more of a meal rather than a snack, you can make individual pies and just add more filling. Last year everyone loved the snacks size, but this year we went for the individual pies. I have mini pie pans, I cut the puff pastry sheets to size and baked for the same amount of time as my squares.
